Northland Vet Group is a busy, mixed-animal practice servicing the Whangarei district from our three, well equipped and best practice accredited clinics.
Our friendly and valued team of Veterinarians and Nurses contribute a variety of skill sets, experience and a ‘can do’ attitude and bring a variety of expertise to our table. As a team our motivation is to ensure the absolute best in patient care and gold standard practice. We are excited to welcome on board an experienced Veterinary Nurse with similar attributes.
The role offers many opportunities and will open doors into areas of your personal, and nursing skills that you may have never considered before these include;
- A consulting Nurse programme
- Large animal technician work
- Working alongside excellent in-house diagnostic equipment (IDEXX)
- In-house ultrasonography
- Gold standard dental X-ray, with our nurses actively involved in dental prophylaxis.
- An active role in clinical areas such as; blood draws, catheter placement, radiography, intubation, scrubbing in for surgical procedures, Orthopaedic surgical nursing.

About the role:
We are seeking a qualified (Diploma level or higher) veterinary nurse with at least 12 months of clinical experience post-graduation to fulfil a part time position, approximately 3 days. This role offers some flexibility around hours of work, and we therefore welcome any suitable candidates apply for a discussion. Please note, you will need to be willing and able to work weekends and on call within our rotating roster.
Remuneration is competitive and will be reflected by the successful candidates experience and skill set.
Skills and experience:
This role requires the successful candidate to be competent in patient restraint and animal behaviour, alongside proven experience (minimum 12 months) within clinical nursing such as; anaesthesia monitoring, blood sampling/handling, assisting with x-rays and general nursing duties.
